Our cutting calculators

Sick of wasting time on calculations and regulations?

Traditional methods are costing you money. Guesswork leads to mistakes. Complex regulations are a headache.

Get precise measurements in minutes, not hours. No more costly errors, no more exhausting engineers, no more burning through time, money, and bloody sanity to ensure you’re following complex regulations.

Our calculators were created after 25 years in the roofing industry. We saw the problems, the wasted time, and the mistakes happening on job sites across Australia. So we did the hard work and now you don’t have to. (You’re welcome.)

FAQs

Got Questions? Right this way.

Can’t find the answer to your question? Get in touch and we’d be happy to help out.

How long do the calculations and reports take?

Most only take a few minutes once you've got your measurements! Sometimes just 60 seconds when you get the hang of them.

Can I save my calculations?

You can generate a PDF to save or print for easy reference, perfect for sharing with the team and external contractors.

Can I use the calculators on site?

As long as you have an internet connection, you're good to go! We specifically built the calculators to work well on your phone or tablet so you can use them on the job.

How do I access the calculators?

Simply sign up, log in, and start calculating from your computer or mobile device. No software needed.

Do I need to be an expert to use the calculators?

Nope! That's the whole point - the calculators are designed to be easy for anyone to use, from the apprentice to the boss. Just quick, simple, and accurate calculations without the usual eyeballing and hair-pulling. If you can tap a few numbers into your phone, you're sorted.

How accurate are these calculators?

Extremely accurate. They're built on proven mathematical formulas and the exact requirements for Australian building codes and standards*. We built and refined them on our own jobs. The cutting calculators are dependent on exact roof pitch angles. The calculations will also be off if your roof plane is slightly off. So, getting the exact roof pitch to the decimal is important.

Are the reports compliant with Australian standards?

They sure are - our calculations follow the relevant guidelines to ensure compliance without the headaches. These currently include the latest NCC and ABCB Housing provisions standard 2022 10.8.3 guidelines, as well as AS/NZ 3500.3 Stormwater plumbing standards. (Constantly stressing over complex regulations and codes is one of the main reasons we built the tools in the first place!)

Are the calculators only good for roofers?

Not at all! While they were built with the roofing industry in mind, they're also great for builders, architects and designers, draftsmen, plumbers, plasterers, carpenters, and other tradies working with sheet materials.

How do the cutting calculators work?

Simply enter your measurements, and the calculator will provide instant, precise cuts, angles, and reports to ensure compliance with Australian regulations*. You can then print, save, or share a PDF with all the details.
